Music

    Music at Queensmill

Our students enjoy all kinds of music. They love singing, dancing and playing musical instruments. Queensmill School offers a range of activities and musical groups for students to get involved with: class music sessions, 1:1 piano lessons, choir and after school music club.

Music is a unique form of communication that can change the way pupils feel, think and act. Our musical practice in Queensmill School is based on Sounds of Intent developmental framework. It helps us to respond to students’ individual needs and it covers the whole range of ability. We cover three main areas of engaging with music: listening (reactive domain), making sounds (proactive domain),and making sounds with others (interactive domain).

We are proud to be part of the most exciting new area of work currently happening in the field of music and special educational needs.
